Why not use a brake to the best brake to get the most rifle control during live fire? That is what the WR GMJ 22LR brake is for. The WR GMHJ is made of 7075 alum, and hard black anodised. - weight 40grams with nut and bush. Threaded nativaly in 5/8x24.
The WR Rimfire Gas Mongrel Muzzle Brake fits onto 3 sized threads. 5/8x24 is native of the brake, and other threads using bushes of 1/2x20 or 1/2x28.
22 Gas Mongrel top port blocked by a grub screw. Some 22LR ammo is so slow there is minimal pre-load, so opening this port helps reduce muzzle jump.
Helmholtz resonance is used to determine that harmonics will be induced by every brake depending based on vent orientation and gas volume and velocity - ramp up, peak and ramp down. Ramp up is the most critical as this is when the bullet is still in the barrel. The WR brakes are designed by caliber, and by ranging in the most common velocity of these calibers, to minimise any additional harmonic influences. No brake in the world takes into account these relevant considerations, AND IF THEY SAY THEY DO, THEN PROVE IT.
